(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 3 - The condition of Alfredo Cospito, an
anarchist leader on hunger strike for 107 days against his hard
prison time, is "alarming to say the least", according to
Green-Left Alliance MP Ilaria Cucchi who visited him in jail in
Milan Friday.
"I found Alfredo Cospito's condition alarming to say the least
and getting worse by the day and hour," said Cucchi, who lost
her 31-year-old surveyor brother Stefano to a Rome police
custody beating in 2009.
"The thing that worries me most is that he has no intention of
breaking his hunger strike, for him it is a political struggle"
to end the 41 bis harsh prison regime usually reserved for mafia
bosses, to stop them running activities form inside jail.
